Dr. Anne Kerr, the seventeenth president of Florida Southern College, earned the Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from The Florida State University, and a B.A. degree from Mercer University. Dr. Kerr began as the president of Florida Southern College in June 2004, after unanimous selection by the Board of Trustees and more than 25 years of experience in college and university administration. She served as vice president at the University of Richmond, as vice president at Rollins College, and previously as the associate dean of the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins. Prior to that, she was an assistant dean of students at the University of Central Florida and an educational analyst at the office of the Board of Regents for the State of Florida.
 
Dr. Kerr serves on the Board of Directors of SunTrust Bank Mid-Florida, the Polk Museum of Art, the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, and Habitat for Humanity. She has also served as president of the Orlando Economics Club, the Southern Ballet Theatre, and State of Florida Board of Dance. She has been involved with United Arts and the American Heart Association, and was the founding president of the Florida Center of Philanthropy and Non-Profit Leadership. Dr. Kerr is married to Dr. Roy Kerr, and they have one son, Eddie.
